SUBJECT AREA TUTORING

Our team of highly qualified subject-area tutors brings invaluable real-world classroom teaching experience to the table. They offer personalized one-on-one instruction, expertly tailoring lessons to meet each student's unique academic needs. The majority of our tutors hold state certifications, and many have earned Master's degrees, with a select few holding Ph.D. credentials. Tutors are carefully selected for their profound subject matter expertise, their ability to teach interactively and actively engage students in the learning process, and their warm and approachable personalities. We understand that expertise in a subject alone doesn't equate to effective teaching. Genuine learning takes place when a teacher can effectively communicate complex concepts in a way that both engages and connects with students, fostering a strong interactive rapport.

Our tutors typically meet with students once or twice a week for 1 to 1.5 hours per session. During these sessions, tutors assist with any questions, clarify lessons, help with homework, prepare for upcoming quizzes or tests, and, if time allows, introduce upcoming topics in advance of classroom instruction. Introducing new topics in a one-on-one setting before the large group classroom presentation enhances students' classroom participation and boosts their self-confidence while reducing anxiety.

At Armstrong Tutoring, we're more than just helpers; we're experienced classroom teachers!
